Backflow test reports as data, at no cost to the authority
Testers send their reports to an intake address of your own. Each one is read into a private register: the device, the address, the tester and certificate, the test date and the result.
What the authority gets
- An intake address of its own, for testers to send reports to as they do now, by email.
- A register of every report, with a missing field, a duplicate, or a serial already on file at another address flagged for your staff. Nothing on a report is changed.
- Exports at any time, as CSV or JSON, from a private link.
- A monthly compliance report from the register: devices tested in the last twelve months, devices past due, and reports received within your deadline where your own bylaw or form sets one.
- A weekly summary to your program contact, once you ask for one.
- Certificates checked against your list, where you share your active-tester list: a certificate not on it is flagged, never refused.
What it costs
Nothing to the authority, now or later.
Your data
- It is yours. Export the whole register at any time. On a written request we delete every row and every stored message, and confirm it in writing.
- Nothing is forwarded. A report received at your intake address is not sent anywhere or to anyone on your behalf, and is never used for our own outreach.
- Where it is kept. Records are kept in Canada (AWS Canada Central). Email delivery and the reading of each report use providers in the United States, named on our privacy page; a one-page note with each provider's region and retention is yours on request.
