Township of Langley backflow test deadline

Within 30 days of the installation anniversary date, or a date the Engineer assigns. That is the Township of Langley's rule, quoted below from its own bylaw. Put in your building and your date, and you get the day it is due.

The rule, in the Township of Langley's words

“submit a report to the Engineer in a form designated by the Engineer, from an Authorized Backflow Prevention Device Tester upon installation of the device and thereafter annually within thirty (30) days of the installation anniversary date, or on such annual date as assigned by the Engineer.”

Worth knowing: The Township also gates the TESTER: a Township business licence or the Engineer’s approval is required. A jurisdiction can be open and the tester still not permitted.

What happens next

  1. Check your date above. The answer appears on this page straight away: the day your report is due, or which date we still need.
  2. If you leave your email (and tick “I would like a quote” if you want a price), a person replies in writing, usually the same day. Nothing is charged and nobody calls.
  3. A certified tester tests every device on the notice, annually.
  4. The report reaches the Township of Langley inside the window. Reports go to backflow@tol.ca. Keep the confirmation, not only your sent copy.
