Filing a backflow test report to the City of Everett

Where it goes

Everett's own form states it in four words: “Reports are to be submitted via SwiftComply.” For a first submission it directs you to backflow@everettwa.gov or (425) 257-8800 to be set up.

The owner gets a copy too, whatever route the purveyor's copy takes. WAC 246-292-034(4) names both recipients and one test produces both — the statewide rules are here.

By when

Everett publishes no filing deadline, and neither does the state. WAC 246-290-490(3)(g) makes the time frame part of each purveyor's own programme rather than a statewide number.

Neither the form nor the City's backflow page states one.

We would rather tell you we did not find one than print a figure you might plan around.

What Everett wants about your test kit

The form carries the calibration date and gauge number alongside the tester's certificate number.

The twelve month interval itself is a state rule, WAC 246-292-034(6)(a)(i), and it runs to the test date rather than the filing date. We will email you before yours lapses, free.

Worth knowing

The submission route is printed on the form and nowhere on the City's backflow web page, which lists documents and a phone number and never mentions SwiftComply. Downloading the blank form is the only way to find out how to file.
