My backflow test notice from City of Coquitlam: what do I do, and by when?

The rule

Within 10 days of the test, as the City's test report form instructs. Source: City of Coquitlam Backflow Prevention Assembly Test Report: “TEST REPORT MUST BE SUMBITTED NO LATER THAN 10 DAYS FOLLOWING TESTING” (the misspelling is the City's own). Water Distribution Bylaw 4428 sets no reporting deadline.

Worth knowing: The ten days are printed on the City's form; the bylaw sets none, and we have found no fine for a late report.

What to do, in order

1. Find the date that starts the clock: the day of the test. The clock does not start until the test is done.
2. Book a certified backflow tester for every device listed on the notice.
3. Make sure the tester's report reaches City of Coquitlam (PlumbingPermits@coquitlam.ca) inside the window. Keep a copy.
