Who runs it

Ethan Kerr. Victoria, British Columbia. One person builds it, answers the email, and is the only person with production access — which is the answer to the question the security page asks you to care about. There is no support team browsing your records.

Not incorporated yet. When that changes, the legal entity will be named here, on the privacy policy and on the terms, all at once — and not before, because naming a company that does not exist in a privacy policy is exactly the sort of thing this business is supposed to be against.

Why backflow first

Because the deadline is real, the form is public, and the person carrying the risk is the one least equipped to chase the paperwork. A tester finishes a device in a mechanical room and the test is not finished: a report has to reach the Cross Connection Control Officer, on the authority's own form, inside a window set by a bylaw. None of that is the skilled part of the job and all of it is where the liability sits.

The same shape turns up in kitchen exhaust cleaning and in radon measurement. Those are being built.

How we work

We read the rule, not a summary of it. Every deadline, threshold and required field in the product is traced to the section of the bylaw, code or standard it came from, with the date it was checked. Where something has not been verified it is marked unverified rather than quietly assumed — which is why one water authority is supported properly and the rest are not listed.

We do not claim what is not shipped. A capability goes on a page when it works, not when it is planned. You will find several places on this site where we say what does not work yet: opening the app without signal, a self-serve data export, and sending the authority's copy for you. Those are the honest state of it.

Every record can be checked by whoever receives it. A report carries a link that a building owner, an insurer or the authority can open to confirm it is real — no account.
