Calgary backflow test deadline
Within 5 days of the test; within 2 business days if the device failed and was not repaired at once. That is City of Calgary's rule (Alberta), quoted below from its own documents. We do not file there; this is the rule, so you can date your buildings against it.

“A Customer must provide the Director, Water Services, in the manner required by the Director, with a copy of any test report resulting from a test conducted on the Customer's Cross Connection Control Device: (a) within 5 days of the test where the Approved Tester discovered that the Cross Connection Control Device is in good working order”

Where it goes: The tester enters the report in the City's SAMS portal.
How often: On installation and annually afterwards.
Worth knowing: The duty is the customer's, not the tester's. A device that is not in good working order must be repaired or replaced within 5 business days of the City receiving the report (s.39(3)). The City's programme page gives both 5 days and, in a collapsed panel, 30 days; the bylaw says 5.
What happens next
- Have each device tested by a tester certified where the building is, on installation and annually afterwards.
- Get the report to City of Calgary inside the window — reports go through the City's SAMS portal. Keep the confirmation.
