My backflow test notice from Capital Regional District: what do I do, and by when?
Get each device on the notice tested by a certified tester, and make sure the report reaches Capital Regional District within 35 days of the date on the notice. That is the whole duty, and it is the property owner's, not the plumber's.
The rule

Worth knowing: A passing test files by email; a FAILED device must go through the CRD CCC Portal within 14 days (s.7.3). The two routes are different and the deadline is shorter for a failure.
What to do, in order
- Find the date that starts the clock: the date on the notice. It is printed on the letter.
- Book a certified backflow tester for every device listed on the notice.
- Make sure the tester's report reaches Capital Regional District (ccc@crd.bc.ca) inside the window. Keep a copy.
