My backflow test notice from Regional District of North Okanagan: what do I do, and by when?
The rule
Within 3 business days of the test. In the Regional District of North Okanagan's own words:
“At least once in every twelve (12) month period, the Customer shall have a certified Backflow Assembly Tester conduct a test of the Backflow Prevention Assembly, and, within three (3) business days of such test, provide to the RDNO the completed Backflow Assembly Test Report.”

Worth knowing: There is also a $22 per-report data-entry fee for anything not submitted through FAST, payable IN PERSON at the Coldstream office with the address for each report.
What to do, in order
- Find the date that starts the clock: the day of the test. The clock does not start until the test is done.
- Book a certified backflow tester for every device listed on the notice (annually).
- Make sure the tester's report reaches Regional District of North Okanagan inside the window. The Regional District of North Okanagan takes reports only through FAST (MTS Inc.). Keep the confirmation, not only your sent copy.
