My backflow test notice from City of Salmon Arm: what do I do, and by when?
The rule
Within 30 days of the test date, per the City's Cross Connection Control Policy — the bylaw sets none for the annual report. Source: City of Salmon Arm Cross Connection Control Policy (September 2012); Bylaw 3934 s.7.1 counts 30 days only from installation, repair or relocation.
Worth knowing: Submitting IS the attestation — the form carries no signature line. The City also reserves the right to stop recognising a tester who repeatedly files forms with errors or omissions.
What to do, in order
- Find the date that starts the clock: the day of the test. The clock does not start until the test is done.
- Book a certified backflow tester for every device listed on the notice.
- Make sure the tester's report reaches City of Salmon Arm (ccc@salmonarm.ca) inside the window. Keep a copy.
