My backflow test notice from City of Williams Lake: what do I do, and by when?
The rule
Within 30 days of the test. In the City of Williams Lake's own words:
“The results of all inspections and testing shall be submitted to the Director within thirty (30) days of that inspection and testing.”
Bylaw (Waterworks Bylaw No. 1972, 2005, Part 7.1 s.5) · read 26-Sep-2026
What to do, in order
- Find the date that starts the clock: the day of the test. The clock does not start until the test is done.
- Book a certified backflow tester for every device listed on the notice (upon installation and annually, or more often as the Director requires).
- Make sure the tester's report reaches City of Williams Lake inside the window. The City of Williams Lake publishes no intake address we have been able to read; your tester or the notice will say where the report goes. Keep the confirmation, not only your sent copy.
