My backflow test notice from Resort Municipality of Whistler: what do I do, and by when?
The rule
Within 30 days of the test. In the Resort Municipality of Whistler's own words:
“A Backflow Assembly Test Report must be completed by the Backflow Assembly Tester and submitted to the Municipality or Authorized Agent within thirty (30) days of testing for each Approved Backflow Prevention Assembly.”
Bylaw (Cross Connection Control Bylaw No. 2233, 2019, s.7.3) · read 26-Sep-2026
Worth knowing: Testers need an RMOW test tag on each device, issued at Municipal Hall.
What to do, in order
- Find the date that starts the clock: the day of the test. The clock does not start until the test is done.
- Book a certified backflow tester for every device listed on the notice (on installation, repair, replacement or relocation, and at least once every 12 months).
- Make sure the tester's report reaches Resort Municipality of Whistler inside the window. The Resort Municipality of Whistler takes reports only through FAST. Keep the confirmation, not only your sent copy.
