Lantzville backflow test report: the form, where it goes, the deadline
Last year's Lantzville clients, reminded and booked with you.
C$15 per booked retest, nothing otherwise.
Where it goes
“The test results, including any repairs performed, must be submitted to the District following that test and then on an annual basis, or as required by the Director” (Bylaw 140 s.41; the Director is the Director of Public Works). The District publishes no test report form and no intake address for it: its Forms, Permits & Applications pages (read 18 Oct 2026) list no backflow form, and its Contact page gives only the Public Works department's general contact, publicworks@lantzville.ca / 250.933.2250 — a contact, not a filing route.
Lantzville publishes no form, no cross connection control page and no intake address. The duty to file exists; the destination does not. If you have been told where to send it, we would like to know — see below.
The official form
Any CSA B64.10 test report carries the readings; if Lantzville issues its own form, use that one.
How often, and by when
On installation, then annually, or as required by the Director of Public Works. Not stated in the bylaw — confirm with the authority. We would rather tell you we did not find one than invent a number you might plan around.
Source: Water System Bylaw No. 140, 2018 (consolidated to Bylaw No. 308, 2022), s.39–42.
Whatever the deadline, the report only stands if your test kit was in calibration on the day. Most programmes require it every twelve months, and a lapsed kit does not slow you down — it stops you filing at all. We will email you before yours lapses, free.
Worth knowing
The report is due "following that test" with no day count (s.41). Premise isolation to CAN/CSA B64.10 is required wherever backflow is possible (s.39); a new device must also be inspected and approved by the Building Inspector before its first test (s.41). Contravention carries a fine of not more than $10,000, each day a separate offence (s.68–69). Bylaw 432, 2026 amended only Schedule C (water restrictions). Read whole on 18 Oct 2026.
Got a notice? (owners)
Filed does not test on site. The test is done by a certified backflow tester you hire; how to choose one. What a notice means and what you have to do: the cross connection notice, explained. Several buildings? A free audit of your buildings (each one's authority, rule and due date), or the records sheet, kept for you.
Tell us the address and due date: we'll track the deadline, send you reminders, and connect you with a certified tester in your area. Get help with my notice.

When we checked
Checked 18-Oct-2026, against Lantzville's own bylaw, tester sheet or test report form. These change. If this is wrong, tell us and we will fix it the same day — help@backflowfiled.com. We would rather be corrected than be confidently out of date.
We make software that fills in the authority's own form and keeps the record — what that looks like. This page is here whether or not that is of any use to you. All 71 BC authorities →
